The Alexandra District Club has an amazing Wine Club of around 70 people. Once a month, they invite a local vineyard to present their wines. We went along earlier this year and presented 5 wines including: Riesling 2015 and 2019, Pinot Gris 2019 and Pinot Noir 2017 and 2018 (as we had sold out of Rosé and Gewurztraminer). The Wine Club members rate each of the wines they taste and then at the end of the year all invited vineyards attend an awards night. We went last week and had the pleasure of joining Prophet’s Rock, Mt Michael, Terra Sancta, Te Kano and Wet Jacket for Christmas dinner and the awards ceremony. Three Miners won trophies for the Best Pinot Gris and the Best Overall Rating of Wines! I (Kirstin) love these awards, they mean a great deal to me as they are about everyday people who love drinking our wine.
