Three Miners Riesling 2008

Palate: A mineral, elegant, tight mouthfeel, with lots of drive and finish

  Winemaking: This was the third harvest of Riesling grapes from Three Miners Vineyard. Three different fermentations were undertaken. The grapes were whole bunch pressed. Two fermentations were settled and racked prior to fermentation, the other was fermented without settling for texture. Half of the wine was fermented with a selected yeast strain, the other half with indigenous yeast. Coolish fermentation between 14-18 degrees celsius. The wines fermented for twelve weeks and were stopped with some remaining sugar left to balance the wines acidity. A small casein fining was done. A sterile filtration was undertaken.
